Competitor Analysis
Our device will be the first hands on training model for DBS procedure. It offers numerous advantages, which are outlined in the table below:
When assessing our competitors in the DBS training market, there are three primary options worth considering. The first option involves VR/AR simulations, which provide a realistic representation of the surgery. However, they may lack the capability to train for precise surgical techniques. The second option entails DBS training seminars, which can be conducted entirely online and include surgical videos and animations to educate medical students. While these seminars offer convenience, they may compromise on accuracy as they do not provide practical experience or hands-on training opportunities. The last option involves surgical shadowing, where individuals spend time in a surgical theater as both spectators and operators. Although this option offers valuable firsthand experience, the main challenge lies in accessing a surgeon willing to allow a medical student to shadow them.
